What is IFT?
Interpersonal Functions Therapy (IFT) is a psychotherapy approach that focuses on improving relationships and communication between individuals, couples, and families
The therapy process involves exploring the individual's current relationships, past relationships, and patterns of communication.
IFT helps the individual identify maladaptive patterns of interaction and communication that are contributing to their problems
The IFT Method
As a relationship modality, IFT aims to achieve several goals. These include disarming conflicting spoken communication, identifying discourse functions, enhancing intimacy, respect, and affection, eliminating obstacles that lead to stagnation, and fostering a greater sense of empathy and understanding within the relationship's framework.
